Financial Aid & State Grants

As a private school serving the greater Asheville area, Black Mountain Montessori offers a limited amount of internal financial aid for families in need of financial support. The state of North Carolina offers financial assistance to support school choice for North Carolina families. Learn more about the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority, and their K-12 programs - the Opportunity Scholarship and the Educational Savings Account (ESA+). The new student applications for NCSEAA open on February 1st each year. The Priority Window closes on March 1st.

The Opportunity Scholarship Program expands school choice in North Carolina through needs based scholarship grants for eligible children in K-12th grade. This program provides funding of up to $6,492 per year for eligible children who choose to attend a participating private school.

Before & After School Childcare

Black Mountain Montessori offers a variety of school and daycare schedules to fit your family’s needs.  We are the only school in Black Mountain that offers full day Montessori preschool for ages 3-6 with the option of Before & After School Childcare— an essential need for many full-time working parents.

Our educational system as a whole is not “one size fits all”. What we love about the Montessori method is that it absolutely meets the child where they are. The teachers at Black Mountain Montessori help the children develop their strengths academically while creating a culture that inspires them to be kind and compassionate human beings.
